OPINION BY GREG RAY Well, as expected and dreaded, the attack on Iran has materialised and now the dice of war are rolling in a new direction. As always they are heavily loaded, but the element of uncertainty is always present. No matter how the dice fall many more innocent people must suffer and die. A deadly alignment of narcissistic and megalomanic opportunists in charge of the USA and Israel has brought this conflict into being, but even these two characters are merely puppets whose strings are being pulled by forces well beyond their control. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God. Matthew 5:9 In his sermon on the mount, Jesus Christ offered his blessing to peacemakers. Unfortunately, most of humanity - including most nominal Christians - have never got the memo. Advocating for peace in a world dominated by territorial, tribally oriented, heavily armed and trigger-happy people is a thankless, dangerous task. Another day at the missile factory

Swords or ploughshares. Guns or butter. War or peace. We make choices and they have consequences. The drumbeat to war is relentless these days and I can’t blame those people who want to try to tune it out. But tuning out is hard when the noise keeps getting amplified.
